Dr. Adam J. Mamelak MD, FRCPC, DABD is a Canadian and American board certified dermatologist. He is an active member of the Canadian Dermatological Association, American Academy of Dermatology, Canadian Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
Dr. Mamelak received his Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University in 1996 where he ranked in the top 5% of the Faculty of Science. He studied medicine at Queen’s University and graduated as a Gold Medalist in 2000.
Dr. Mamelak trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He completed a research fellowship in Molecular Immunology and his residency training in Dermatology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Mamelak went on to train in Procedural Dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery at DermSurgery Associates and The Methodist Hospital at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Mamelak is a skin cancer specialist. He has performed laboratory and clinical based research on skin cancer and has published papers in medical journals on this subject. He is one of 14 doctors in Canada trained in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, the most effective and precise method for treating non-melanoma skin cancer.
As a procedural dermatologist, Dr. Mamelak is an expert in a number of cosmetic dermatologic procedures including sclerotherapy and varicose vein treatment, tumescent liposuction, chemical peels, laser surgery, dermal fillers such as Juvederm® and Restylane®, and Botox Cosmetic® injections.
